Writing Left Handed

There's one habit in particular that many left handed children fall into while learning to write: the hook.

The hook is when a lefty bends their wrist above the words they are writing so they can see the page. It can feel natural at first, but over time it causes strain and discomfort in the hand and wrist.

How do you fix it? Teach a left handed student or child to turn their paper about 45 degrees clockwise. That simple shift lets them write underneath the words, see what they're doing, and avoid smudges.

Without strain. Without pain.
